Abstract

This article analyzes the concept of adaptation as a broader process beyond textual transformations, emphasizing its role in transnational and transmedial encounters. The paper explores how adaptation studies can provide insights into what "America" represents both within and outside the country, strengthening community values through effective communication. The author contends that adaptation is central to sustaining relationships and understanding significant issues across different points in time and space. This study examines various contributions that highlight the transmedial and transcultural dimensions of adaptation, including interviews with key figures like Jim Welsh and analyses of media adaptations such as anime and literary translations.
